Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of services provided by Safeeds Auto Transport Inc. ("Safeeds," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By requesting a quote, submitting an order, paying a deposit, signing electronically, or otherwise engaging our services, you ("Customer," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms.

Safeeds provides vehicle transportation brokerage services within the United States. These Terms apply to all customers without exception and form a binding agreement between you and Safeeds Auto Transport Inc.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use our services.

Safeeds' Role as a Licensed Auto Transport Broker

Safeeds Auto Transport Inc. operates solely as a federally licensed property broker in accordance with regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Safeeds does not operate as a motor carrier and does not physically transport vehicles. Instead, we act as an intermediary between customers and independent, licensed motor carriers.

Our role is limited to arranging transportation by matching your shipment with a properly licensed and insured carrier that agrees to transport your vehicle. Once a carrier accepts your shipment, the carrier becomes solely responsible for the actual transportation, including pickup, transit, delivery, and the issuance of a Bill of Lading.

Safeeds does not own trucks, trailers, or transportation equipment. We do not employ drivers to transport vehicles. All carriers used are independent contractors and are not agents, employees, or partners of Safeeds.

Because Safeeds acts strictly as a broker, our responsibility is limited to arranging transportation in good faith with properly authorized carriers. We do not assume liability for acts, omissions, or negligence of any motor carrier.

Quotes and Pricing Policy

When you request a quote from Safeeds, you are provided with an estimated cost based on information supplied by you. Pricing is calculated using several factors, including vehicle type, condition, size, transport method (open or enclosed), pickup and delivery locations, time of year, fuel costs, route demand, and current market carrier availability.

All quotes are non-binding estimates unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. The final price may vary if the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete. For example, if a vehicle is quoted as operable but is later determined to be inoperable, additional fees may apply. Similarly, oversized vehicles, modified vehicles, lifted trucks, oversized tires, or vehicles with significant damage may require pricing adjustments.

Safeeds reserves the right to adjust pricing prior to carrier assignment if market conditions change significantly. If an adjustment is necessary, the customer will be notified and must approve the revised price before shipment proceeds.

Once a carrier has been assigned and the customer has approved the final price, the agreed-upon amount becomes binding for that shipment unless further material changes occur.

Deposits and Payment Terms

To secure transportation services, Safeeds requires a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit represents Safeeds' broker service fee and covers the administrative and logistical services required to arrange transportation.

The deposit is typically collected via credit or debit card and is separate from the carrier's transportation fee. The remaining balance is generally paid directly to the assigned carrier upon delivery, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Carriers typically require payment at delivery in the form of cash, certified funds, cashier's check, or other approved payment methods. Personal checks are usually not accepted unless pre-authorized.

By providing payment information, you authorize Safeeds to charge your payment method for the agreed deposit amount and any additional approved charges related to your shipment.

Failure to submit required payments may result in cancellation of your shipment.

Carrier Assignment Process

After booking, Safeeds will begin the process of locating a qualified carrier. Your shipment is posted within our dispatch system and made available to licensed motor carriers who operate on your requested route.

Safeeds reviews each carrier's authority status, insurance documentation, and safety compliance information before assignment. However, customers acknowledge that carriers are independent contractors and Safeeds cannot guarantee carrier performance beyond reasonable due diligence.

Carrier assignment timelines vary depending on location, route popularity, and seasonal demand. Rural areas, remote pickup or delivery locations, or low-demand routes may require additional time to secure a carrier.

Once assigned, you will receive the carrier's contact information and an estimated pickup window. Pickup and delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Pickup and Delivery Process

The assigned carrier will contact you to arrange pickup within an agreed window. You or a designated representative at least 18 years of age must be present at both pickup and delivery to release and accept the vehicle.

At pickup, the carrier will conduct a visual inspection of the vehicle and document its condition on a Bill of Lading (BOL). This document serves as both a receipt and condition report. It is essential that you carefully review the inspection report and ensure that all pre-existing damage is accurately noted before signing.

The vehicle must be prepared before the pickup. Customers are required to remove all personal belongings from the vehicle. Safeeds and the carrier are not responsible for loss or damage to personal items left inside the vehicle. The vehicle should contain no more than one-quarter tank of fuel and must have a functioning battery, properly inflated tires, and operational brakes unless disclosed otherwise.

Upon delivery, the vehicle must be inspected again before signing the Bill of Lading. If new damage is observed, it must be noted on the delivery Bill of Lading before signing. Failure to document damage at the time of delivery may limit or invalidate a claim.

Insurance and Claims Process

All carriers contracted by Safeeds are required to maintain active cargo and liability insurance as mandated by federal law. Coverage limits vary by carrier and are subject to the terms of the carrier's policy.

Safeeds does not provide additional cargo insurance coverage beyond the policy maintained by the carrier. In the event of damage during transit, claims must be filed directly with the motor carrier and its insurance provider.

To initiate a claim, customers must note the damage on the delivery Bill of Lading at the time of delivery, take photographs, and notify the carrier immediately. Claims procedures and timelines are governed by the carrier's insurance policy.

While Safeeds may assist in facilitating communication between the customer and carrier, Safeeds is not responsible for claim outcomes and does not assume liability for vehicle damage.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safeeds Auto Transport Inc.'s liability is limited to the amount of the broker fee paid by the customer.

Safeeds shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of income, rental expenses, lodging costs, emotional distress, or loss of use of the vehicle.

Safeeds is not responsible for delays caused by weather conditions, traffic, mechanical failures, natural disasters, acts of government, labor disputes, road closures, or other events beyond reasonable control.

Additionally, Safeeds is not responsible for mechanical failures, fluid leaks, electrical issues, suspension problems, or other mechanical defects that may occur during or after transport, especially if such conditions were pre-existing.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel their shipment prior to carrier assignment. Refund eligibility depends on the timing of the cancellation and administrative processing already performed.

If a carrier has already been assigned and confirmed, cancellation may result in forfeiture of the deposit and may incur additional cancellation fees, especially if the carrier has dispatched to the pickup location.

If a carrier arrives at the scheduled pickup location and the vehicle is unavailable, a dry-run fee may be charged.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Safeeds.

Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted under the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution through written communication prior to initiating legal proceedings.

Any legal action arising from these Terms or related services shall be filed exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Ohio.

Any claim must be brought within one (1) year from the date the shipment was completed.

By using Safeeds' services, you consent to receive communications via email and telephone. These communications may include shipment updates, confirmations, scheduling notices, billing information, and promotional materials.

You agree that electronic signatures, acknowledgments, and confirmations are legally binding and carry the same effect as handwritten signatures.
